Connect your Zenhub workspace with Slack for streamlined issue management and collaboration.

Zenhub’s Slack integration is designed to enable teams to create and comment on issues without leaving their preferred communication platform. This help center article provides a step-by-step guide on setting up the integration and using its features effectively.

How to Connect Zenhub with Slack

Initial Setup for Slack Integration

To link your Zenhub workspace with a Slack channel:

  1. Go to Edit Workspace by clicking the cog icon in Zenhub.
  2. Select Integrations from the workspace settings menu.
  3. Choose Link this workspace to a Slack channel and follow the prompts to allow Zenhub access to your Slack workspace.
  4. Assign a Slack channel to synchronize with your Zenhub workspace. Note that one Slack channel corresponds to one Zenhub workspace.

Creating Issues in Slack

Issue Creation from Slack

Create Zenhub issues directly within Slack:

  1. When creating an issue in Slack, ensure you specify the correct Workspace and repository.
  2. The issue will then be automatically synchronized with Zenhub.

Commenting on Issues

Two-Way Comment Syncing

Facilitate discussion across platforms:

  1. Comments made in a Slack thread linked to a Zenhub issue will appear in Zenhub under that issue.
  2. Comments posted in Zenhub will show up in the Slack channel as well.

Engaging External Experts

Allow contributions from non-Zenhub users:

  • Slack users who do not use Zenhub can still add comments to issues in Zenhub if they have been added to the corresponding Slack channel.
